About Richie Valdez — Editor, Videographer & Creator

About

Richie Valdez grew up in Watsonville, California — Santa Cruz County — where he picked up a skateboard and a camera around the same time in sixth grade. Those two things never really separated.

After graduating from Brooks Institute of Photography with a degree in film, he landed an internship with Darren Doane — one of the most influential music video directors of his generation, known for defining the visual identity of punk and alternative music in the '90s and 2000s. He was one of many incredibly influential people in Richie's life who saw something in him and gave him the foundation to build a real career.

What followed was twenty years of work spanning action sports, documentary film, commercial production, brand content, and social media. From filming and editing for Welcome Skateboards and Street League Skateboarding with Rob Dyrdek, to producing The Bunt Podcast, to UGC content for A24 and documentary work for VICE — filmer, editor, team manager, photo retoucher, content manager, podcast producer, whatever the job called for.

Based in Los Angeles.
